Transferring 3D facial expressions from adults to children

چکیده
Diagnosis of craniofacial conditions is shifting towards pre- and peri-natal stages, since early assessment has shown to be crucial for the effective treatment functional developmental aspects children. 3D Morphable Models are a valuable tool such evaluation. However, limited data availability on newborn geometry, highly variable imaging environments, challenge construction baby face models. Our hypothesis that constructing bi-linear model allows identity expression decoupling, enables improve brain function assessments. Thus, given adult infants facial configurations very similar expressions in babies difficult scanned controlled manner, we propose transferring from available FaceWarehouse (FW) database scans, construct baby-specific model. First, defined spatial mapping between BabyFM FW. Then, an automatic neutralization remove scans. Finally, apply transfer obtain complete tensor. We test performance generalization resulting with set. Results show obtained allow us successfully realistically manipulate while keeping them decoupled variations.

Transferring Facial Expressions to Different Face Models
We introduce a facial deformation system that helps the character setup process and gives artists the possibility to manipulate models as if they were using a puppet. The method uses a set of labels that define specific facial features and deforms the rig anthropometrically. We find the correspondence of the main attributes of a generic rig, transfer them to different 3D face models and automat...
متن کاملExpNet: Landmark-Free, Deep, 3D Facial Expressions
We describe a deep learning based method for estimating 3D facial expression coefficients. Unlike previous work, our process does not relay on facial landmark detection methods as a proxy step. Recent methods have shown that a CNN can be trained to regress accurate and discriminative 3D morphable model (3DMM) representations, directly from image intensities. By foregoing facial landmark detecti...
متن کاملDiffering amygdala responses to facial expressions in children and adults with bipolar disorder.
OBJECTIVE Child and adult bipolar patients show both behavioral deficits in face emotion processing and abnormal amygdala activation. However, amygdala function in pediatric relative to adult bipolar patients has not been compared directly. The authors used functional MRI to compare amygdala activity during a face processing task in children and adults with bipolar disorder and in healthy compa...
متن کاملAttention to facial emotion expressions in children with autism.
High-functioning children in the autism spectrum are frequently noted for their impaired attention to facial expressions of emotions. In this study, we examined whether attention to emotion cues in others could be enhanced in children with autism, by varying the relevance of children's attention to emotion expressions. Twenty-eight high-functioning boys with autism and 31 boys from a control gr...
متن کاملUnconscious facial reactions to emotional facial expressions.
Studies reveal that when people are exposed to emotional facial expressions, they spontaneously react with distinct facial electromyographic (EMG) reactions in emotion-relevant facial muscles. These reactions reflect, in part, a tendency to mimic the facial stimuli. We investigated whether corresponding facial reactions can be elicited when people are unconsciously exposed to happy and angry fa...
